It’s all about to love (AMAR = to love in Spanish) yourself from the inside (INS) out.
Growing up in a Frisian down-to-earth family I struggled to embrace my sensitive & emotional side. I acted perfectly while pleasing others, but forgot myself in the process. I felt lost as a perfectionist pleaser trying to live up to the expectations of others. I was dating guys who weren’t good for me, hoping they would love me. In the process I didn’t respect my own boundaries. I was insecure, looking for validation, thinking a lot and wasn’t feeling nor connecting with my body & feelings. I just kept myself busy going on an autopilot.
Till I realised during a workshop that I was focusing way too much on others and with that, I had lost myself. I needed to love myself first. Around the same time a therapist told me that I was living way too much in my head/mind and that there was no connection with my body. I wanted to restore the connection with myself, to do what was good for me, set boundaries and have more self confidence. I wanted to love myself for who I was and follow my own dreams. Do you recognize this?
What did I do?
I started prioritising myself through a daily yoga, meditation & self-care practice. This helped me relax my body, let my feelings be there and not getting carried away by negative thoughts (calmer mind). It helped me embrace myself, with all my positives & negatives and increase self-love. Besides yoga and meditation, I did many other courses and trainings to help me come out of my shell & love my authentic self, including a 4-mont course about assertiveness and several coaching courses.
Furthermore I learned to follow my heart. I quit my well-paying corporate job twice, to move abroad (Australia & Spain) and to do more meaningful work.
As a result, I am happy with who I am. I dare to set boundaries, say no, have enough self confidence and can even laugh about my clumsiness. Of course I still have off-days, but now I flow with it instead of running away for it. Would you like this too?

In my previous job in the legal world I was coaching new colleagues and I really enjoyed that. I was good at it too according to the positive feedback I received, but I wanted to help women on a deeper level. I wanted to share what I have learned and create a program that combined yoga, meditation & coaching. To expand my knowledge, I became a certified Holistic Health Coach and completed a Yoga Teacher Training focused on Ayurveda & Yoga Therapy.
Now I guide women like you in my online Coaching & Yoga programs, and I host Retreats on site on the Costa Brava in Spain. I want to help you dive deep and truly reconnect with who you are. This way it doesn’t have to take you years to love yourself just the way you are and live from your heart. It is time that you step into your own inner power & love.
