My morning always starts the same, with my yoga & meditation practice. When I am not home and traveling I also make time for my ‘sacred’ ritual. I say sacred as it is sacred for me. I can’t go without it for a day. If I don’t do it, I really feel something is missing. I move differently through the day. My ritual is my anker.

It is my way to reconnect with my most authentic self.

My ritual grew over the years to where it is now. My ritual is:

  • Putting my yoga clothes on when I wake up (I have them lying next to my bed so it is easy to grab them).
  • Roll out my yoga mat and do a yoga session. This can be my own flow or I follow a class online (Yoga with Adriene is my favourite).
  • Do a meditation. I have my own patterns (body scan with making a protective (energy) layer , grounding, connecting with the elements, and asking for help and guidance from my guardian angels & guides).
  • Cup of Chinese green tea
  • Healthy breakfast (and buckwheat pancakes on the weekend)

I can’t recommend you enough to create your own ritual. It is the best way to recharge your battery. So how can you create your own morning ritual?

  • I recommend doing it straight away when you come out of bed. Maybe you have to set your alarm a bit earlier, but trust me, it is worth it. I did that too when working in my corporate job. I had to get up earlier, but because I felt so much better after doing my ritual then sleeping for 30 minutes more, it became an easy decision. You will benefit the whole day from it.
  • Choose a time frame. You can for example start with 15 minutes and expand from there.
  • Do it every day so it becomes a habit.
  • Pick those things that fill your cup. Some inspiration besides my ritual; journalling, reading, walking, free writing, gratitude practice or write down your goal for the day, the week and the month.

So now you can create your own morning ritual.

And see for yourself how this self-care ritual in the morning will positively influence the rest of your day.

I never went back.
