The most important love of all is self-love. That’s where it starts and that is where it ends.
How I grew my self-love?
- Say “I love myself” multiple times a day. This was my most important affirmation (besides “I am good enough”).
- Take & make time for self-care. By taking good care of myself and nourish & nurture my body, mind & soul, self-love grew from that. My self-care practice has been yoga & meditation for years now. It can also be journaling, reading or whatever feeds you on a deeper level.
- Accept myself where I am and not try to change what I feel. I tried to push my “shadow” side away, but by pushing that away, I pushed away a part of myself and that is not an act of love.
- Choose love over fear. You can lead your live out of fear, but it is so much more powerful to live out of love. And if you think about it, if you make a decision based on love, what can go wrong?
- Say No to others and Yes to myself. I’ve been a pleaser for years. But with that there was no authentic connection with others as I didn’t show the real me. Starting with small steps (giving my opinion for a day trip) my confidence grew and now I always try to put myself first.
With implementing this tips every day in my life, I now can say that I love myself and that is the best feeling in the world! Not be depending on others for it, as they can’t give it to you really anyway, but having the love (AMAR) from the inside out (INS) .
